This design for William Inge's Picnic was created using soft pastels and marker and was completed in Fall 2018.
My focus in crafting the aesthetic of this design was on contrasting both age and socioeconomic status, bringing to life the nostalgic idealism of the 1950s with bright color and classic style, and exploring how the tight confines of conservative culture both conflicted with and inspired rebellion.
